How our charges are calculated for debt and employment matters

Our charges will be calculated by reference to the time spent by the fee earner dealing with the matter. It is difficult to estimate the cost for debt collection/employment matters as matters vary greatly and much depends on the issues involved and whether proceedings are issued.

As a guide, where matters are straight forward without proceedings the cost are likely to be in the region of £1500 - £10,000 plus VAT at 20%. Where matters are more complex with proceedings the costs are likely to be in the region of £15,000 upwards plus VAT. The rate of VAT is currently at 20%. Matters usually take between 1-2 years to be resolved but may take longer subject to the value, issues and complexities involved. When instructed we can discuss what aspects may be excluded from our costs such an enforcement of  Judgement or acting for you in an Appeal. 

The rates do not include disbursements. It is difficult to estimate disbursements as it depends on the values, issues and complexities of the case. Estimated disbursements are likely to be within the region of £500 - £10,000. Disbursements are costs/fees that we need to pay third parties on your behalf for example barrister fees, court fees and other professional fees. Certain disbursements may also include VAT at 20% such as professional fees.
